Curb strike damage to wheels, tires, and axle alignment. Tight turns drag the trailing axle across a curb face at an angle. Fifth wheel plates get gouged, kingpins get loaded sideways, and the front cap takes a crush that also tweaks the frame at the A-frame welds. Straightening the sheet metal and leaving the coupler geometry wrong is how a body repair turns into a sway complaint.

Roof edge and air conditioner shroud shear. Clearance bars, drive through canopies, and low pipe runs catch the tallest thing on the vehicle first. Shrouds, vent lids, and antennas break away cleanly, which owners treat as a parts problem. What matters is the mounting flange, where the strike levers the AC base and cracks the roof membrane in a ring that is invisible from the ground.

Proximity changes what is worth doing. Owners this close often bring a coach in for a moisture check on a schedule rather than waiting for a stain to appear.

Storage is usually off site and shared, so the vehicle sits in a lot with lanes narrower than the units parked in them and gets contacted by people who do not leave notes. Damage often appears between visits with no known event, which is why a dated walk around photo set at every drop off earns its ten minutes. That is worth knowing before you schedule, because it changes what we look for the moment the unit arrives.

Mid January to early March. The first wet weeks reveal what the previous year of parking lot contact actually did. Water finds cracked cap laminate, sheared vent flanges, and ladder mounts that were pulled loose months earlier. Walk the interior with a light after the first two storms and study ceiling corners and the head of the rear cap before any of it reaches the subfloor.

Mid May to late June. Get the acidic film off before summer bakes it in. Wash horizontal surfaces first, then seal or coat them, and inspect every wrap and decal edge at door cuts and body seams. An edge caught while it is still flat gets rolled back down. An edge left curling through August lifts the panel and takes the graphic with it.
