01

What OCRV Empire is

The short answer

OCRV Empire is a specialty collision, paint, and structural body shop for RVs, camper vans, Sprinter vans, trailers, commercial trucks, and municipal fleets. We work direct with every major insurance carrier and perform all work in shop in Yorba Linda for customers across Southern California.

A motorhome is not a scaled up car. It carries load through a steel or aluminum cage with a laminated sandwich panel bonded to it, and a fiberglass cap that is structural in some places and cosmetic in others. General auto body shops are set up for sheet metal. That difference is why so much RV work has to be done twice.

We are set up for the other thing. Large format paint, structural bays, certified welding on steel and aluminum, and the disassembly discipline to find the damage that photographs never show. On any given week there is a vintage restoration on the floor next to current year Sprinters and Rivians.

Location: All work is performed at our Yorba Linda facility. We do not offer mobile, roadside, or fleet route service.

Camper van and Sprinter van repair, builds and upgrades

Plenty of shops can fix a stock van. Far fewer understand a modified one, and fewer still know how to document a custom build so a carrier actually pays for it.

Mercedes Sprinter, RAM ProMaster, Ford Transit, Rivian EDV, and every conversion built on them. Collision and refinish on one side, build-out and systems on the other, and the part most owners actually need: an itemized record of the solar, the lithium bank, the roof rack, and the cabinetry, so none of it disappears from the estimate.

04

We speak insurance so you do not have to

Most adjusters have never scoped a laminated sidewall. That is not usually bad faith, it is a knowledge gap, and it gets closed with evidence rather than argument.

Our process puts teardown before final scope on every structural job. We open the vehicle, photograph what the impact actually did, and submit a supplement with the evidence attached. That documentation is what moves a carrier off a cosmetic only position, and it is the difference between a repair that holds and one that telegraphs back through the paint in July.

05

How a job actually runs here

Six steps, in this order, every time. The order matters more than the list.

  1. 01

    Intake and documentation

Vehicle photographed from every angle, VIN and claim number recorded, and a walk with you so we both see the same damage before anything moves.

  2. 02

    Teardown and hidden damage discovery

We remove trim, skin, or interior panel as needed. This is where the real extent is found, and it is why estimates written from photographs are almost always short.

  3. 03

    Supplement and carrier approval

Photographed supplement written and submitted to your adjuster. We handle the back and forth. Nothing structural gets cut until it is authorized in writing.

  4. 04

    Structural repair first

Cage, frame, and substrate corrected before any cosmetic panel goes on, because a panel hung on a bent structure will not stay right through one summer.

  5. 05

    Panel, skin and refinish

Laminate rebuilt, fiberglass laid up and faired, or aluminum replaced. Color matched under multiple light sources and blended into adjacent panels.

  6. 06

    Water test and delivery

Every opening operated, every replaced seam water tested, and the unit released only after it passes. Balance is due at pickup.

06

Everything we do, with prices posted

Nine categories. Every service has a published range and hour count, because you should be able to check the number before you tow anything anywhere.

All of Southern California, one shop

179 cities across 7 counties. Every city page states the actual routing, drive time, and the conditions that decide what fails there.

Coastal / 33 cities

Marine air pushes salt inland every night and none of it rinses off on its own. It settles into seams, fastener heads, hinge pins, and anywhere a coating has already thinned, then works underneath the surface while the vehicle sits.

Urban basin / 27 cities

Dense traffic, tight surface streets, and constant stop and go. Damage here is overwhelmingly impact damage, and most of it happens at walking speed in places a 34 foot coach was never designed to fit.

Inland valley / 96 cities

Hot dry summers, cool wet winters, and a daily swing that can cover forty degrees between afternoon and dawn. The swing is the real load, because every material on a coach expands on its own schedule and the joints between them absorb the difference.

Low desert / 11 cities

Air temperatures above 115 degrees through the summer and roof surfaces far hotter than that. This is the hardest environment in Southern California for a recreational vehicle, and very little on a production coach was engineered with it in mind.

High desert / 9 cities

Elevation stacks additional UV on top of desert heat, and then winter brings hard freezes and hail. Vehicles here take both ends of the range inside the same twelve months, and the materials never get a mild season to recover in.

Mountain / 3 cities

Snow load, deep freeze and thaw, sustained grade, and impact from hail and falling limbs. Mountain vehicles carry structural and chassis stress that a flatland unit of the same age has never experienced.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you work directly with insurance companies?

Yes. We work direct with Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, AAA Enterprises, Mercury, Allstate, American Family, and others. We write the supplement, submit the photographs, and handle the negotiation. Insurance billed jobs may be billed at carrier negotiated labor rates that differ from our posted retail rates, and we tell you which applies before work begins.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Yes. All estimating is paid work. A collision estimate fee applies and is refundable as a credit against an authorized repair. An RV systems estimate is $150 and diagnostic time is $285 per hour with a one hour minimum, both refundable the same way. A real estimate on a laminated structure requires access and time.

Can you handle modified vans and custom builds?

Yes, and this is where a lot of owners get shortchanged. Aftermarket solar, lift kits, custom bumpers, roof racks, and interior build-outs all have to be documented as part of the loss or the carrier will not pay for them. We photograph and itemize modifications during teardown specifically so they end up in the supplement.

How long does a repair take?

A contained cosmetic repair runs two to three weeks. A major structural job with carrier supplements and back ordered parts can run three to six months. Carrier approval speed and parts availability drive it. We give you a real schedule after teardown rather than a guess before it.

Do you come to me?

No. All work happens at 23281 La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda, CA 92887. We do not offer mobile, on-site, or fleet route service. The lift capacity, paint booth, and structural bay this work requires do not travel.

What do you not do?

Engine, drivetrain, transmission, and DOT inspection work are not performed here. On fleet and commercial vehicles we do body, paint, structural, and equipment installation only. We say that upfront rather than after your truck is on the lot.
