The box goes warm permanently, and no amount of service brings that cooling unit back.
Gelcoat and clear coat breakdown. UV at low humidity is the most aggressive combination a finish can face. Clear coat exhausts its absorber package, goes cloudy, and then flakes off at panel edges where the film was always thinnest. Gelcoat chalks straight through to the fiber. A finish with ten good years left in it on the coast can be past correcting here inside three or four seasons.
