About this category
Fleet body work is a scheduling problem wearing a repair problem as a disguise. The technical side of straightening a box truck rear frame is well understood. The hard part is that the truck runs a route tomorrow, the replacement roll-up door panel is three weeks out, and nobody authorized teardown before the unit was dropped off. Most of the avoidable downtime in fleet repair happens before a tool is picked up. These articles are written for fleet managers, transportation directors, and owner-operators who need the return date more than they need the philosophy. All work is performed at our Yorba Linda facility. We do not run route service and we do not perform engine, drivetrain, transmission, or DOT inspection work. DOT reflective tape and conspicuity marking is in scope and is part of most commercial body jobs we write.

Lift Gate and Service Body Installation for Working Fleets
A lift gate hangs 800 to 1,600 pounds behind the rear axle and subtracts that from payload. Rear frame reinforcement is the real work, not the gate itself.
